GREEN HOUSE

Green house in ST MARY’S ENGLISH SCHOOL is popularly known as ‘GREEN GLADIATORS’. Like the gladiators of ancient Rome the Green House students compete with others with utmost boldness blended with their unique quality of entertaining the onlookers. The vision of the house is advancement; in all spheres as well as forms. Another vision of Green House is to create unity through equality.
We the members of Green House blindly believe in the cycle “Reduce→Reuse →Recycle”. Moreover we strive for it and work as a team. Be it sports/ quiz/ elocution/ recitation competition or even house board decoration, our unity seems to be our greatest strength. The students are given freedom to pursue new ideas and they are encouraged to take part in competitions but to fight with dignity, harmony and humanity. Green house salutes the spirit and motive of the house system i.e. discipline, healthy competition, global awareness and overall development

The house colour “GREEN” symbolizes nature life, learning, harmony, self-respect, and well-being. “Green” also suggests change with growth. The very colour brings forth the idea of positivity also.
Each student of the green House possesses the above mentioned qualities and they all arefull of vitality which is signified by this colour.
We the “GREEN GLADIATORS” believe in keeping the world green and to remain green from the core of our heart as well. We follow the footsteps of “Green Collar Workers” like SUNDERLAL BAHUGUNA whose ultimate Moto is to make Green development and to improve conservation of the environment. Sunderlal Bahuguna fought against felling of trees through “Chipko Movement” he is our strongest inspiration. Another person whose ideas, poetry provides encouragement to the GREENHOUSE students is poet SUKANTO BHATTACHARYA. He has taught us to be evergreen and his poems act like booster to the young, vibrant, energetic students and other members of Green House.

The Goal of Green House is growth. We want to bring as much growth as the Green Revolution brought to the world especially in developing countries by increasing agricultural production.
Other goals of the house are:

Through house works they build a strong friendship with others and a significant rapport with the teachers
One important goal is to make the young students rational in every stage of their life.
House activities are done to provide the student s with extra knowledge as global awareness
Developing the students as a true and complete human being is the main mission of Green house
